The requirements and demands that employees place on their digital workplace have changed a great deal in recent years. The rise of social networks, mobile devices, cloud and trends such as The New Way of Working and the consumerisation of IT have created new possibilities in abundance for end users. At the same time, the need for fast, easy and 24/7 accessible information and knowledge from colleagues is further increasing.
With Office Graph and Office Delve, Microsoft introduces a new way to discover relevant information and connections from across your work life. Mavention is closely involved in the development of this technology as Microsoft partner. As part of our collaboration with the Office 365 product group, Mavention and Microsoft organised an Office Delve Event on Friday, 14 November. Especially for the event, Georges Krinker and Kathrine Hammervold, two product managers from the Office 365 product group, were present to talk about their work and reveal the ins and outs of this new technology to Mavention's corporate clients.
Vision for modern digital workplace
The morning started with a plenary session in which Eric Dubbelaar presented Mavention's vision for the modern digital workplace. This vision included key success factors and principles for transitioning to digital workplaces, and was further explained by showing examples of various productivity apps. Next up was Microsoft with a detailed presentation and demonstration of Office Graph and Office Delve. 'Very appealing. An eye-opener!' said one of the guests.
Apps in practice
The morning concluded with a presentation by Waldek Mastykarz, who demonstrated a number of apps developed by Mavention based on Microsoft's new Office Graph technology. These apps show how Office Graph allows users to find information and knowledge faster and more effectively.
Ideas and suggestions
After lunch, an open discussion was held during which Mavention, Microsoft and interested guests shared ideas and talked about what they had seen that morning, contributing ideas and suggestions that the Microsoft product managers could take back to the product group. The overall response from clients was positive. Both Mavention and Microsoft can look back on a successful event.
